DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin on Monday called out Illinois Governor JB Pritzker for smearing federal law enforcement and failing to protect the people of Chicago from violent illegal aliens.
“Our message to him: Go walk your streets. Go see the violent crime against your constituents. Go see the violent crime against our own law enforcement,” McLaughlin said in an interview with Fox this morning.
“JB Pritzker needs to get a spine. He needs to stand up for the people of Chicago because if not, we will continue to flood the zone and surge federal resources to make sure the people of Chicago and the people of Illinois are safe again.”

He’s saying that we’re using racial profiling to go after people. That’s absolutely not true. We are targeting criminals, targeting criminals who have perpetuated very horrendous violence against the people of Chicago. And yet he continues to lie on air and say that we are arresting children, zip tying children. These are fake images that have continued to be debunked. JB Pritzker needs to get a spine. He needs to stand up for the people of Chicago because if not, we will continue to flood the zone and surge federal resources to make sure the people of Chicago and the people of Illinois are safe again.
McLaughlin further responded on X, slamming Pritzker for his “shameful and disgusting” lies and inciting more violence just one day after federal agents were violently attacked. “Get out of your mansion & go see Chicago,” she said. “If JB Pritzker actually walked his own city he would see the domestic terrorists attacking American law enforcement officers and the scourge of insidious violent crime that is a direct result of his own policies. ”
Her comments come in response to recent statements from Pritzker, accusing federal agents of turning Chicago into a “war zone” amid violent riots against U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He further claimed that agents are j”ust picking up people who are brown and black” and ziptying elderly people and children as they “ransack” buildings.

Pritzker has long claimed, starting last month when DHS deployed hundreds of agents to the city, that federal authorities were “preparing to invade the communities around Chicago.”
More recently, Pritzker referred to the Trump Administration’s attempt to remove illegal aliens from the country as “Trump’s Invasion.”
But he blames Trump for inciting, turning Chicago into a “war zone” as he incites violent leftwing mobs to rebel against the federal government.
Meanwhile, Chicago faces double-digit numbers of shootings and murders every weekend.
Additionally, The Gateway Pundit reported that federal officers from CBP and ICE were ambushed by a convoy of roughly ten vehicles in what officials described as a “coordinated assault” by domestic extremists rioting against law enforcement. Chicago police, however, were explicitly ordered to stand down and ignore the distress calls from federal agents.
