Former Democrat Rep. Katie Porter showed she had a dim wit to match her explosive temper when she launched a ridiculous attack on President Trump over air travel and paid the price.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the Schumer shutdown (which is still officially ongoing despite last night’s vote) has caused 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 Transportation Security Administration officers to work without pay and snarled tens of thousands of flights.
At a press conference last Wednesday, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced new airspace restrictions to help “reduce risks in national airspace.” These restrictions went into effect on Friday.
In response to this, Porter took to social media to blast Trump for supposedly giving billionaires flying private jets a free pass while forcing ordinary Americans to endure pain HER PARTY caused with the shutdown.
“Here’s a question for Donald Trump as he forces airlines to cancel thousands and thousands of flights: why is he starting first with the commercial planes?” she asked.
“Every day, thousands of private jets take off, carrying billionaires, CEOS, and the 1%…Wouldn’t it make more sense to cancel the planes that carry the fewest passengers first?” Porter added.
“It’s just another example of who Donald Trump really cares about, and it isn’t us.”

Duffy fired back on social media with a clever and hilarious response while noting a critical error in her attack on Trump: private jet travel is already restricted.
“Hopefully, Katie Porter doesn’t pour hot mashed potatoes on me for correcting her,” he wrote. “But restrictions for private jets are already in place!”

This comment is in reference to explosive divorce court documents leaked two years ago, which alleged that Porter verbally and physically abused her ex-husband, Matthew Hoffman, in horrifying ways.
One incident in 2006 involved Porter allegedly dumping a bowl of boiling potatoes right on Hoffman’s head after a nasty argument.
Former FAA official Dan Elwell also confirmed to Fox News that passenger planes would have priority over private jets and blasted Porter’s statement as “unfounded.”
With embarrassing moments like this, it’s no wonder that Porter’s run for California governor is tanking.
