President Trump on Monday credited far-left politicians and cashless bail policies for the “horrible” light rail stabbing in Norfolk, Virginia, last month, where 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. murdered 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska.
“We’re going to get to the end of it,” the President said of the lawlessness in America. “You know, when you have horrible killings, you have to take horrible actions. And the actions that we take are nothing.”
He went on to attack Democrats and policies like cashless bail, which allow repeat offenders to be released from detention to reoffend, oftentimes violently.
The lunatic, Decarlos Brown, had a long criminal rap sheet, with arrests dating back to 2007. He was later arrested at least six more times on charges, including felony larceny, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and communicating threats, according to the Daily Mail. Most of the charges were dropped.
He was allowed by Charlotte’s leftist politicians and judges to go out and murder that young woman.
Trump compared reasoning with these radical ledt idealogues to end these deadly policies to “talking to a wall,” noting that he would “love to go into Chicago and straighten it out.”
President Trump has said repeatedly that he plans to send law enforcement operations into Chicago, and over the weekend, hundreds of DHS and ICE agents were stationed to begin immigration enforcement operations.
This comes amid his attempts to replicate what he has done with Washington, DC, since taking federal control of the city on August 11, leading to a severe decrease in crime, notably homicides.
Trump again touted his success on Monday, telling White House faith leaders that “you’ll be happy to know, is a free and safe zone. It’s so safe right now.”

Cashless bail, and you try and reason with people, like in Chicago, with the governor and the mayor, you try and reason with them, and it’s like you’re talking to a wall. It’s just doesn’t— I assume it’s just a political ideology. They’re not stupid people. Must be an ideology that’s just buried in their head, and you can’t do a damn thing about it. And we’d love to go into Chicago and straighten it out. You know, Washington, DC, you’ll be happy to know, is a free and safe zone. It’s so safe right now.
