Senator Mitch McConnell in Frail, Incapacitated Condition

Senator Mitch McConnell in 2025 / 60 Minutes

On Monday, May 19, The Gateway Pundit viewed the incapacitated Senator Mitch McConnell from uniquely close vantage points – first, from the gallery of the US Senate Floor, and, shortly thereafter, at a one yard’s distance, outside the Russell Senate Office Building.

Senator McConnell made a brief appearance Monday on the US Senate Floor, voting alongside Senate Republicans to confirm Charles Kushner as the US Ambassador to France.

During these proceedings, Senator McConnell took on the air of a fragile poltergeist.

Unfortunately, Senator McConnell can no longer move under his own power, since stumbling down a Senate staircase on February 5.

The longtime former Senate Republican Leader, Senator McConnell, now requires an aide’s support, in order to walk short distances.

More alarmingly, Senator McConnell’s eyes convey almost zero awareness of the Senator’s own surroundings.

Approximately one hour after Senator McConnell ambled onto the Senate Floor to confirm Charles Kushner as the US Ambassador to France, Senator McConnell stepped outside the Russell Senate Office Building, less than one yard away from this Gateway Pundit correspondent.

Senator McConnell issued this Gateway Pundit correspondent a long, blank stare, while clutching firmly onto the arm of his top aide.

Then, Senator McConnell walked slowly and somberly with his aides into the Senator’s convoy, at the end of business hours.

In a striking parallel to Senator McConnell’s decline, the health coverups of prominent Democrats, including President Joe Biden, Congressman Nancy Pelosi, Senator John Fetterman, and the late Senator Dianne Feinstein, have come at the expense of the American people.

Although Americans should always wish each other well regarding their personal health, Americans should not allow the health concerns of elected leaders to jeopardize the People’s business in federal government.

Today, constitutional measures regarding the removal of elected leaders from office remain stringent. So, it becomes incumbent upon the doctors, families, and staff of elected leaders, themselves, to convince these terminally ill leaders to resign from office.

Shockingly, Senator McConnell’s doctors have denied the Senator’s ever suffering from a seizure or a stroke.

In 2023, when Senator McConnell froze catatonic, for the second time before the media, Congressional doctors swiftly determined that Senator McConnell was medically clear to continue working.

Congressional doctors announced that Senator McConnell had suffered a concussion from a fall he took earlier in 2023.

According to Real Clear Politics’ final poll of Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader in 2024, Senator McConnell’s approval rating stood at 20.3% among Americans.

Fortunately, Senator McConnell has announced his retirement, effective at the end of the 119th Congress, in December, 2026.

In the meantime, Senator McConnell has wasted much of his congressional term attempting, and failing, to block significant cabinet appointees by President Trump.

Thankfully, President Trump has expressed regret over his endorsing Mitch McConnell for US Senate in the 2020 election.

The former Senate Majority Leader and the President have not been on speaking terms since Senator McConnell combatted President Trump’s election integrity efforts in 2020.

For all Americans, evidently, the end of Senator McConnell’s congressional tenure cannot come soon enough.
