AOC’s Brother Forced to Issue Statement, Threatens Lawsuit After Being Linked to $1.2 Million Fentanyl Trafficking Case

Gabriel Ocasio-Cortez, the 32-year-old brother of far-left Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), lashed out at viral rumor tying him to a $1.2 million fentanyl trafficking ring.

The story, which exploded across social media, falsely claimed that Gabriel—misidentified as “Matthew” in a satirical article—was caught by the Coast Guard on Lake Superior with a boatload of deadly drugs, facing charges of criminal conspiracy and trafficking a Schedule I controlled substance.

Gabriel, who claims to work with the homeless and flaunts his credentials as an LGBTQ+ advocate, used his TikTok platform to set the record straight.

“My name is not Matthew. I have no idea why they’re posting this. I work with the homeless. I have nothing to do with this story, which isn’t real. Please find something better to do with your time,” Gabriel said in the video.

Gabriel later shared a follow-up post explaining his decision to publicly address the rumor and warned that he is considering legal action against those spreading false information.

“That’s all it takes to start to get somebody that’s a little bit radicalized, somebody that’s willing to pick up their guns and go do something,” he said.

“And it wouldn’t be the first time somebody’s tried. That’s the society that we’re in, so things like this are just more serious than ever — and you can’t slander people.”
