Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger has claimed he will “crush” the Trump administration in court if they decide to bring criminal charges against him.
President Trump announced on Sunday that former Joe Biden’s pre-emptive pardon of Kinzinger and other members of the corrupt January 6th Committee, were “void, vacant and of no further force or effect.”
Trump pointed to the fact that Biden used an autopen to sign them, which could potentially invalidate them.
The disgraced former Congressman, who along with Liz Cheney led the harassment and persecution of January 6th protesters, said in an interview with CNN that he welcomed attempts to prosecute him for his alleged crimes.
“What was your reaction when you saw Trump’s post last night, declaring your preemptive pardon void and vacant?” asked host Jake Tapper.
Kinzinger responded:
Well first off, I’m trying to figure out what he’s trying to distract from, because that’s what all this is always a distraction to try to get people’s attention. Or maybe he hasn’t felt like he’s gotten enough attention.
But look, Jake. it’s like, bring it on. like, honestly. So you know, we had an election. I fought against Donald Trump. I wanted Kamala Harris to win. January 6th was a big thing, but America made a different choice.
Fine. I’m ready to move on. I’m like, look, we made it very clear what happened on January 6th. America made a decision. There is one person that’s obsessed about the sixth because he still has been basically deemed guilty in the court of public opinion, and that’s Donald Trump.
He can’t handle it. He obsesses about it. so my reaction to him is like, you know what? Then bring it. Stop talking about it. Stop being all verbose. Stop pretending like you’re tough.
Bring the charges then if you really want to do it because we will crush you in court.
His comments came hours after he directly challenged the Department of Justice to bring charges against him, describing the president as a “weak, whiny, tiny man.”
So confident is Kinzinger that he did not engage in any wrongdoing, he previously claimed he did not want Joe Biden to issue him a pardon because it would make him look guilty.
Since being effectively forced out of office in 2022, Kinzinger has become an active Democratic Party activist and even spoke at the Democratic National Convention in support of Kamala Harris.
