President Trump on Thursday announced another deal to cut pharmaceutical costs for Americans with most favored nation (MFN) pricing on popular drugs for diabetes, heart disease, and weight loss, and other conditions.

According to the White House, “The agreement represents a historic reduction in prices for Americans on the two drugs with the highest annual expenditures in the United States, both of which help adults struggling with diabetes, heart disease (Ozempic and Wegovy only), obesity, and other conditions.”

The drugs will be available on TrumpRX.com, a federal government website that will help patients buy drugs directly from pharmaceutical companies without using insurance, at massively discounted prices, in line with what other countries pay for the same drugs.

But Medicare and Medicaid will also cover these drugs with discounted co-pays.

“This is very exciting. Again, we’re bringing drug prices down to levels nobody ever thought was possible. Tremendous cuts, 200%, 300%, 500%, 700%, a little bit more than that,” Trump said while making the announcement earlier this afternoon.

“So today, I’m thrilled to announce that the two world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers, Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk, have agreed to offer their most popular GLP-1 weight loss drug— I call it the fat drug, remember— at drastic discounts.”

He further announced that Medicare and Medicaid will be able to cover obesity medications at the newly negotiated prices with a $50 copay from the user. “Nobody’s ever seen anything like this. Nobody else could have done it, but I say that modestly,” Trump said.

Trump: Just as significantly, Medicare and Medicaid will finally cover the cost of these weight loss drugs for millions of patients suffering from obesity. Co-pays for Medicare patients will be as low as $50. This is tremendous savings. I mean, now you’re talking about from $1,350 to $50! This is tremendous news for the American seniors. And you all remember when I had 1/8 of 1% for the year. I cut it 1/8, and I was so thrilled. But now, we’re cutting it 1,000% 1200%. Nobody’s ever seen anything like this. Nobody else could have done it, but I say that modestly.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said it’s going to have “dramatic effects on human health in this country” and, collectively, “Americans will lose 125 million pounds by this time next year,” as a result of weight loss drug access.

This follows a series of other deals with major drug companies to substantially lower the cost Americans pay for their drugs.

Previously, as The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump announced deals with Pfizer and AstraZeneca.

In May, Trump signed an executive order laying the groundwork for deals like this by directing the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Secretary of Commerce, and the U.S. Trade Representative to take “aggressive measures” to find Americans the best deal on prescription drugs.
