The FBI launched an investigation after the Secret Service discovered a hunting stand with a direct line to where President Trump exits Air Force One in Palm Beach, according to Fox News.
The hunting stand was reportedly set up months ago.
“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone,” FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News.
“No individuals were located at the scene. The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities,” Kash Patel said.

The U.S. Secret Service uncovered a suspicious hunting stand with a direct line of sight to where President Donald Trump exits Air Force One at the Palm Beach International Airport, officials told Fox News Digital.
Agents found the stand on Thursday, and the FBI is now leading an investigation into the discovery. FBI Director Kash Patel said the hunting stand has not yet been connected to any individual.
USSS chief of communications Anthony Guglielmi also confirmed that the organization is “working closely” with the FBI as well as law enforcement in Palm Beach County.
Guglielmi said agents discovered the hunting stand during their “advance security preparations” prior to Trump’s arrival in Palm Beach.
“There was no impact to any movements and no individuals were present or involved at the location,” Guglielmi told Fox News.

This isn’t the first time President Trump has been in danger of a sniper near his Mar-a-Lago residence.
Last year, federal prosecutors charged Ryan Routh, 59, with attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate after he pushed the muzzle of his rifle through the fence line at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course.
Routh set up a sniper’s nest in the shrubbery outside the perimeter of Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach.
In the area of the tree line from which Routh fled, agents found a Go-Pro, two backpacks, a loaded SKS-style, 7.62×39 caliber rifle with a scope, and a black plastic bag containing food.
One of the backpacks contained ceramic tiles police believe could have been used as a shield/body armor.
Last month, after a two-week trial, Florida jurors reached a verdict in the federal case against Ryan Routh – guilty on all five federal counts, including attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, and other gun charges.
