Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker made a severe calculation in picking a fight with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth earlier this week as he got a brutal reminder about something he is loath to discuss.
As TGP readers know, President Trump has ordered National Guard troops to several crime-ridden Democrat cities across America, including Chicago.
To give a perfect picture of how awful the illegal alien crime situation is in the Land of Lincoln, FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that over 110,000 gang members are currently roaming the streets of Chicago, a city long plagued by corruption, lawlessness, and political cowardice.
That means roughly 4% of Chicago’s 2.7 million residents are active gang members, about one gang member for every 24 people living in the city.
In one particular glaring example, a Chinese illegal alien living in the Windy City under Pritzker’s sanctuary policies was indicted for running a human and sex-trafficking ring across state lines.
The illegal migrant acted as a courier and recruiter, transporting female victims across state lines and collecting proceeds tied to sexual exploitation.
This all comes as ICE agents have come under assault by Marxist agitators, while Chicago Police have been ordered to stand down and let the agents suffer.
Pritzker, though, is more concerned that Hegseth is supposedly working out too much. The Illinois governor, who is not exactly known for his dedication to fitness, took a cheap shot at the Secretary of War on Tuesday.
“Pete Hegseth was busy ignoring his job and doing pushups as part of a show for the Guinness Book of World Records while Illinoisans are being invaded by Trump’s military troops,” Pritzker wrote on X.

Seeing how hypocritical the Illinois governor’s statement was, Hegseth fired back epically on Wednesday. He took a brutal shot at Pritzker’s glaring lack of fitness while noting our soldiers will protect Illinois residents, unlike Pritzker.
“Governor, you might try a pushup or two,” Hegseth wrote.
“In the meantime, our troops will do the job you refuse to do.”
