Schumer Shutdown Day 7: Senate Will Not Vote on Dueling Funding Bills Today as Airports Go Dark

**Schumer Shutdown Day 7**

The Senate will not vote on dueling funding bills on Tuesday as the Schumer Shutdown drags on.

The Senate, however, did confirm 107 Trump nominees on Tuesday.

On October 1 at 12:01 am, the government partially shut down because two measures failed in the Senate. The measures to reopen the government failed again on Wednesday morning.

The House passed a clean, short-term stopgap funding bill to keep the government open. Schumer rejected it.

Instead of working with Republicans to responsibly extend funding until November, Schumer chose a shutdown.

Airports went dark this week because Schumer’s priority is to give illegal aliens taxpayer-funded healthcare.

The FAA warned that Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Nashville, Houston and Las Vegas will experience Air Traffic Control shortages because of Schumer and the Democrats.

On Monday evening, Burbank Airport in Los Angeles, California, experienced delays due to a shortage of ATC staff.

Burbank Airport was back to normal on Tuesday.

Politico reported:

The Senate will not vote on dueling stopgap funding bills Tuesday as the government shutdown clears the one-week mark.

Republicans had initially planned to hold a sixth round of votes on a pair of bills that have failed to advance each of the five times prior — one on the House-passed, GOP funding patch and another on the Democratic alternative — but that was thrown into flux Tuesday morning as senators worked to lock down the schedule.

The chamber will, instead, vote on nominations, including confirmation of a bloc of more than 100 of President Donald Trump’s picks.
