Steve Bannon and Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene discussed how antifa needs to be designated a terrorist organization on the latest episode of War Room.
Bannon and Greene discussed the need for President Trump’s executive orders to be codified into law through congressional legislation. Without that aspect, the executive orders are merely a temporary fix and will only last for the duration of the office term.
“My question is, do you have 215 co-sponsors from the Republican party on your bill to actually designate antifa as a terrorist organization?” Bannon asked.
“No, I don’t, Steve. That would require Republicans actually to grow a backbone and stop being cowards. I’ve had this bill in place for years, and for some reason, the Republicans in Congress haven’t even brought it to the floor for a vote. This is the easiest vote the Republicans can take,” Greene said.
“And just as you mentioned, antifa is not new. We’ve been watching them since the beginning of President Trump’s last administration. We saw the same organizers and the same characters all the way back under Obama in Occupy Wall Street,” Greene said.
Rep Greene warned that antifa’s goals are to destroy the United States Government and create a state of anarchy throughout the nation.
“This has been an organized effort that is anarchy, it’s communist, and it’s completely designed to attack our government and tear it down,” Greene warned.
“This is where the problems are, Steve. It’s in the House and in the Senate, and this is why the people have to keep demanding that their elected leaders, the people they elect to the House and the Senate, continue to do their jobs and work for them,” Greene said.
“Unless we codify his executive orders into law, it goes away when President Trump goes away. I mean, you can have all this stuff, but to make it irreversible, you have to codify it into law,” Bannon said.
“You and I are completely on the same page. The strategy in place right now where the executive branch is really taking all the power away from Congress and doing all the task and actions through OMB and through executive orders is literally making President Trump a temporary President, with temporary policies,” Greene explained.
Rep. Greene explained that it is the role of the legislative branch to turn President Trump’s executive orders and policies into law, otherwise, it will not be a long-term solution.
“It’s the House and the Senate that have to pass legislation and Republican appropriation bills to make President Trump’s policies permanent and make them law,” Greene said.
“Executive orders that we voted for, they should be passed, and passed into law,” Greene continued.
“This revolution will only be permanent after we codify it through the House of Representatives,” Bannon said.
