No one can truly replace Charlie Kirk at Turning Point USA or as a master college debater, but former Fox News host Megyn Kelly did him and the conservative movement proud with her performance at a TPUSA event on Wednesday in Virginia.
As The New York Post reported, Kelly hosted a TPUSA campus event at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, the second TPUSA event since the assassination of Kirk. Things quickly got heated when an ignorant college student decided to smear President Trump and blame him for Kirk’s death.
Kelly rightously took exception to the slanderous allegation and quickly dismantled him. The student eventually tried to backtrack a bit and say that was not what he meant, but Kelly would not let go.
She ably pointed out that the killer, Tyler Robinson, was motivated by left-wing ideology while the crowd roared their approval of her performance.
The student then tried a different tack, claiming Trump had incited violence against liberals. Kelly quickly dismissed that lie as the crowd continued to cheer her on and added that Trump had every right to hate his enemies, considering they tried to jail him for life and then tried twice to kill him.
The kid then attempted to bring up Jack Smith before Kelly shooed him away, ending the one-sided debate.

STUDENT: Why do you support a president who contributes to the rhetoric that got your friend Charlie (Kirk) killed? We saw his rally recently, he said, ‘I hate my enemies…He, uh, Stephen Miller said similar things. How can you support him (Trump) when he contributed to getting Charlie killed?
KELLY: Assumes facts not in evidence. What you said is not true.
STUDENT (screaming): 70% of political violence is contributed by Republicans. Look it up! The DOJ just pulled it! They’re delusional!
KELLY: That’s not true. Once you pull the crazies (out of the study) it is overwhelmingly left-wing violence.
STUDENT: Google it!
KELLY: You know, this is how we get here. So, let me take out the first part of the premise of your question, that it was President Trump’s rhetoric that led to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. That is a blatant lie, It’s a defamatory blaspheme and it’s inappropriate in the setting.
STUDENT: That’s not what I said.
KELLY: Yes, it is.
STUDENT: No, I said he contributed to the political atmosphere. The, the..
KELLY: Well then you have no point. Then your point is utterly empty. ‘Contributing to the atmosphere?’ Let’s just be clear, this guy (Tyler Robinson) was motivated by leftist ideology. We know it from the bullet casings, we know it from the Utah Governor, we know it from his own mother!
(Crowd cheers)
STUDENT: Even if that’s true, let’s say this guy is a leftist, even if that’s true, does that make it okay for the sitting president of the United States to incite violence against liberals?
KELLY: The president of the United States has not accepted violence against liberals. The president of United States made a joke at the Charlie Kirk Memorial, which was funny and self-depricating…
(Student tries to interrupt but Kelly cuts him off)
KELLY: Let me finish. It is completely normal for a politician to be thinking about his political fights. And, by the way, Trump has every right to loathe his enemies. They tried to put him in jail for the rest of his life, they tried to bankrupt him, they tried to put his family in jail, and they tried to kill him!
(Crowd roars their approval)
STUDENT: Jack Smith…
KELLY (shooing him away): Okay, there you go.
