Nowhere is safe anymore.
It used to be that in the military conflicts that came before the advent of the ‘drone wars’, the areas near the frontlines were dangerous, while the deep rear territory was usually much safer – but no more.
In their ‘war of attrition’ campaign, Russian forces have widely utilized FPV drones, unjammable optic fiber drones, as well as cheap and deadly long-range drones and decoys attacking in swarms – and lately Mothership drones carrying multiple attack drones.
The result: no region, even in deep western Ukraine such as Lvov, is safe.
When it comes to the actual combat operations, these capabilities are increasingly being used against Kiev regime’s logistics and supply lines.
Russia is shifting tactics: drones are cutting Ukraine’s supply lines.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Moscow has significantly improved its use of drones — strikes on roads and convoys are now systematic, not occasional.

The Wall Street Journal reported (behind a paywall) on the Ukraine’s Logistics ‘Under Siege’:
What used to be routine supply runs are now deadly operations in which drivers and military personnel use camouflage and evasive tactics to try and avoid detection by surveillance and attack drones.
“Every trip feels like a gamble now—drones don’t just hunt at the front; they’re everywhere.” – Ukrainian supply driver.
As one would expect, this relentless work has severely disrupted the delivery of essentials such as ammunition, fuel, and food.
The already overstretched logistics networks are suffering greatly.
“We’ve lost more trucks to drones in the rear than to artillery in some sectors.” – Anonymous Ukrainian logistics officer.
The strikes destroy military hardware and demoralize units, as commanders have to reroute convoys through less efficient paths, slowing response times.

Ukrainian forces are trying to adapt, but without advanced countermeasures, these disruptions could cause collapses in key frontline areas.
“This is death by a thousand cuts; Russia’s betting on attrition through the supply chain.” – Western military analyst.
