The University of Florida has announced it has cut ties and removed the emeritus status of a retired law professor following a disgusting and disturbing message on social media targeting both Charlie Kirk and President Donald Trump.
Following the political assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, the retired professor decided it was an appropriate time to spew hatred.
According to WCJB in Gainesville, the professor at the center of the controversy is Jeffrey Harrison. Although Harrison retired in 2020, he held Emeritus status at the university.
The post credited to Harrison read, “There is a lot of commentary about Charlie Kirk. It’s not that complicated. He was [an] evil person [spouting] all kinds of hateful messages. I did not want him to die. I reserve that wish for Trump. But let’s face it, even members of the Gestapo and guards at the concentration camps had children. That does not make them [heroes], nor does it make Charlie Kirk someone to be admired.”
Activist Scott Pressler, who has been at the forefront of exposing the vile reactions of leftists to the politically motivated assassination of Kirk, shared Harrison’s vile commentary.

On Friday, UF released a statement posted to X which read, “The University of Florida has been made aware of a retired faculty member who issued a post on social media that is raising concerns. In accordance with the university’s policies and regulations, UF has rescinded this individual’s emeritus status.”

Administrators have not made an official emailed announcement to law students about the incident, a UF law student told The College Fix on Friday.
The Alligator student newspaper reported that the “university released its statement the day after another conservative activist, Scott Presler, posted on X calling for Harrison to ‘lose any affiliation’ with the university and any current duties.”
Presler’s post went viral.
“In a follow-up Facebook post today, Harrison said he received ‘a lot of hateful commentary’ after his original post was screenshotted and republished on X,” the Alligator reported Friday.
