Byron York of the Washington Examiner appeared on the Ingraham Angle this week and addressed the indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel from ABC.
He suggested that this was similar to the Stephen Colbert situation, that it was cumulative, and that Kimmel did not understand that it’s not 2017 anymore. Most of the country has moved on from the 24/7 anti-Trump hysteria, but these late night hosts couldn’t or wouldn’t let it go.
This is a great point and could actually apply to quite a few people in media.

You know, I think with him, as it was with Stephen Colbert earlier, this was really a cumulative thing. And I think that Jimmy Kimmel didn’t seem to understand that it’s not 2017 anymore. If you think back to the terrible days of 2017, when the entire media was saying Russia, Russia, Russia, 24 seven, it dominated everything. This is a different atmosphere today.
Here’s the video:
Jimmy Kimmel just learned it’s not 2017 anymore.@ByronYork: “This is a different atmosphere today… Of course, Trump is still controversial. Of course there is still a resistance. But this is a serious presidency. They are failing to grapple with that. And now they’re also… pic.twitter.com/aNUF1LBfRg

Kimmel thought he was still doing ‘resistance’ TV. There’s not much of a market for that anymore. Especially after the murder of Charlie Kirk.
