South Korea’s far-left Democratic Party is doubling down on its relentless witch hunt against former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
Fresh off an unlawful leak of humiliating detention footage, including degrading images of the conservative leader partially undressed, these power-hungry radicals are now scheming to officially release the videos in parliament, all under the guise of oversight.

Committee members noted that Yoon put up resistance during both the first and second attempts, at a time when he was dressed only in his underwear.

According to a report in TV Chosun, Democratic Party lawmaker Jeon Hyun-hee, head of the party’s “Special Committee on Prosecutor Investigations,” publicly confirmed that discussions are now underway to officially release humiliating detention footage of President Yoon.

Jeon Hyun-hee, the chairwoman of the Democratic Party’s Special Committee for the Third Special Prosecutor’s Comprehensive Response, said regarding the release of CCTV footage captured during the execution of the arrest warrant for former President Yoon Seok-yeol, “I think there will be discussions today or within this week.” Former Chairwoman Jeon, who visited the Seoul Detention Center two days ago (the 1st) to review the CCTV footage, made these remarks on the YouTube channel “Kim Eo-jun’s News Factory” on the 3rd, saying, “It’s a bit of a surprise, but it‘s worth it.”
Regarding the atmosphere surrounding the release, Chairwoman Jeon stated, “The leadership is divided between those who are cautious and those who want to release the footage, and the Legislation and Judiciary Committee is similar.” Regarding the requirements for release, she stated, “If we want to release the footage, it has to be reconsidered by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee. If we request the submission of materials from the Ministry of Justice and the detention center, they are obligated to comply, so the Legislation and Judiciary Committee can secure the CCTV footage.”
She added, “If we want to release it, we can do so by having the standing committee play it out. Only then can lawmakers release it within the scope of their immunity.”
Regarding the release of the underwear video during the first execution on the 1st of last month, he said, “Opinions were sharply divided,” and “Most lawmakers said it would be better not to release it, citing concerns about damaging national prestige.”
On the other hand, regarding the video of the execution on the 7th of last month, six days later, he said, “It’s a scene that incites public anger by showing people resisting public authority and making absurd excuses like ‘Don’t touch my body’ and ‘I won’t comply with the warrant,’” and “There were more arguments that it would be better to release it.”
He added, “If we release just one, there will be many who demand the release of all of them,” and emphasized, “This part needs to be reviewed more carefully.”
Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Yong Min, who serves as the ruling party secretary on the committee, stated after reviewing the footage:
“During the first warrant execution attempt, former president Yoon lay down in his underwear and strongly resisted, saying, ‘You cannot exercise force on me.’ He refused compliance by demanding not to be touched, insisting on meeting his lawyer, and speaking in a defiant tone.
During the second attempt, he was still in his underwear, sitting and reading what appeared to be a Bible, again refusing to comply. When the corrections officer told him to get dressed, he responded, ‘If I refuse, how can you carry out the execution?’ continuing to resist.
The footage shows no illegality on the part of the special counsel, but rather Yoon’s repeated and deliberate obstruction of legitimate law enforcement and public authority.”
