White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will deliver a briefing this afternoon, one day after President Trump invoked Section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act to restore law and order in the crime ridden capital.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump announced on Monday that he is taking federal control over Washington DC’s Metropolitan Police Department and authorizing the use of national guard troops to solve the “public safety emergency” in the nation’s capital.
Trump also called on Republicans in Congress to change the statutes to get rid of “no cash bail” and “some of the other things” that empower criminals in DC and other major cities across the nation.
“This is Liberation Day in DC, and we’re going to take our capital back,” he said.
Hundreds of National Guard troops and federal agents are being positioned throughout the capital to patrol the streets.
In addition to the massive amount of violent crime across the city, President Trump decided to deploy the National Guard after DOGE worker Edward Coristine, AKA “Big Balls” was severely beaten by eight black thugs.
The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 pm ET.
