A newly-surfaced video reportedly shows Arlington, Texas mayor Jim Ross tossing vulgarities at a Christian activist at an LGBTQ event in Louisiana, according to a Dallas Express report.
The video, published by VICE TV on YouTube, shows English-born standup comedian Jamali Maddix filming Ruben Israel, who VICE calls a “hate preacher,” and his “fundamentalist disciples” at the Southern Decadence parade in New Orleans in 2018.
At the 11:44 mark, Israel is seen being confronted by a man holding what appears to be a beer. His face was blurred out.

Ross starts out, calmly, telling Israel, “You know, I believe that y’all can have free speech…I’m down with that. But you know, this is some hateful shit. And I’m a heterosexuals guy.”
The video then has a jump cut to Maddix before returning to Ross’s confrontation with Israel. Ross continued with an elevated tone, “You stand out here like you’re a badass mother f***er hoping, HOPING somebody f***ing starts some s**t but I’m here hoping you do. You do.”
Israel calmly responds, “Not gonna happen.”
Ross then calls Israel a “punk mother f***er” before getting downright sexually explicit. He continues, “You don’t think anal sex is good do you? Have you ever f***ed your old lady in the a**? I f***ed your old lady in the a**.”
Someone then hands Mayor Ross a megaphone, which he aims directly in Israel’s face and shouts:
“Shut your a**. Shut your a** you little piece of s***. You wanna talk s***? These people are out here having a good f***ing time. They don’t come to your stupid redneck church and f***ing talk s***. You come out here, and p***y mother f***er…”
Ross is then seen lowering the megaphone and rushing towards someone in the crowd. “F*** you, p***y” he shouts as he shakes off people trying to hold him back. He then gets in a man’s face, however, what he says is unclear. The only thing that can be understood is more of the same threats lodged at Israel.

According to the official website of Arlington, TX, Jim Ross was elected mayor of Arlington in June 2021. From 1979 to 1983, Ross served as a United States Marine before moving to Arlington to become a police officer. Following a thirteen-year career in law enforcement, Ross went to law school and became a licensed attorney in 1999.
After working in major law firms for a decade, he opened The Jim Ross Law Group, P.C. in 2009. In 2017, he opened the Mercury Chophouse in Arlington, followed by the Hearsay Arlington lounge and restaurant in Choctaw Stadium in 2023.

Jim is a US Conference of Mayors’ Trustee and also serves the Conference as chair of the Veterans Affairs Task Force and co-chair of the Infrastructure Law Implementation Task Force.”
We have reached out to Mayor Ross’s office for comment but have not received a response.
