Liberals are attempting to weaponize the Bible in order to justify illegal immigration.
They quote Leviticus 19:34 which states:
The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God. (NIV)
The Biblical command to love others should not be news to most Christians, but the text does not in any way justify illegal immigration nor does it say foreigners should be allowed to violate the law without consequence.
We must ask, why do these liberals insist on plucking our parts of the Bible without context? Because the rest of the Bible clearly does not support criminal behavior.
For example, Romans 13:1 shows that we are to be subject to the governing authorities and not break the law (so long as it does not force us to disobey God).
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (NIV)
If these liberals were truly interested in understanding the Bibles teachings they might also take into consideration the principle displayed by Jesus in John 10:1 the parable of the good shepherd:
“Truly, truly I say to you, the one who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. (NASB)
The Bible does not justify illegal immigration. Strict immigration law is not sinful. Christians are not under a moral obligation to allow their country to be destroyed by foreign invaders.
As the Gateway Pundit has reported, illegal aliens have caused tremendous damage:
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Wednesday what we all knew: a large number of the paid rioters and insurrectionists are illegal aliens. Leavitt told reporters during a White House press briefing that 330 illegals have been arrested for their involvement, 113 of whom already have convictions for crimes they’ve committed while living here illegally. One of these individuals, as Leavitt revealed in her opening remarks, was a Mexican national who faces charges for attempted murder after he hurled a Molotov cocktail at a police officer.
Bad political takes are one thing, but there is no need to misrepresent the Bible to try and score cheap political points.
