California Governor Gavin Newsom is not taking the news of potentially being thrown in prison after letting Los Angeles get torched by violent insurrectionists over the past three days.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, President Trump spoke to reporters on Monday upon returning to the White House, where he responded to the “professional agitators” burning Los Angeles and Newsom’s taunts against Border Czar Tom Homan.

When asked if Tom Homan should arrest Newsom, Trump responded, “I would do it if I were Tom.” He further slammed Newsom as “grossly incompetent,” pointing to the failed high-speed rail project from Los Angeles to San Francisco that still hasn’t been completed after more than a decade, and billions of dollars have been wasted.

Trump added that the rioters in California are “professional agitators, they’re insurrectionists, they’re bad people,” and “they should be in jail.”

Following Trump’s statement, Newsom went on X to fume that he might be held accountable for letting hugs overrun California’s biggest city.

“The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor,” Newsom wrote. “This is a day I hoped I would never see in America.”

“I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican, this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism,” he added.

This move by Newsom also comes after he taunted Border Czar Tom Homan amid violent anti-ICE riots in downtown Los Angeles.

Newsom dared Homan to arrest him during an interview with the media at the LAPD headquarters.

“Tom, arrest me, let’s go, let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” Newsom said as he mocked Homan.

Newsom has also announced a lawsuit against Trump.
