One of the most remarkable things about President Trump is that he always manages to keep his trademark wit even when the political pressure heats up. Just ask a liberal ‘reporter’ working at an organization almost no one in the country has ever heard of.
Trump went to Capitol Hill earlier this morning to pressure GOP holdouts on the “big, beautiful” reconciliation bill, which encompasses the biggest part of his agenda. The bill, strongly backed by Trump, is aimed at delivering historic cuts to American families, workers, and small businesses.
The 389-page piece of legislation includes a long list of pro-growth, America-First provisions that echo many of the successful features of the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts—this time with added firepower. This includes no taxes on tips and overtime.
As The Hill reported, Trump made clear in the meeting that he was getting angry at those still opposing the legislation. He even dropped the “f bomb” at one point.
Unfortunately, some remained unmoved. These included moderate GOPers in far-left New York and California who are throwing a huge fit because they are not getting enough state and local tax relief (SALT) for their districts.
A reporter asked Trump, who was standing alongside House Speaker Mike Johnson, a gotcha question to push the narrative that the president’s visit was a failure.
“Rep. Andy Harris said you didn’t adequately convince enough people to vote for the bill in the House,” the reporter began before Trump cut him off.
“After this speech? Why don’t we see how the vote is? I thought it was a great speech…Talk,” Trump replied. “Who do you work for?”
“NOTUS,” the reporter answered.
“Who?” Trump asked. The man repeated his answer.
Then, Trump dropped this funny yet savage zinger:
“I don’t even know what the hell that is. Get yourself a real job.”
