30-year-old Kai-ji Adam Lo was identified as the man who drove his vehicle through the Lapu Lapu Filipino festival in Vancouver on Saturday killing eleven people.

The attack took place in the evening. Multiple people were injured.

Vancouver police ruled out a terrorist attack.

Kai-ji Lo was charged with eight counts of murder according to the Vancouver Sun.

Lo reportedly had a history of mental illness. According to Canadian media, Kai-ji Lo’s brother was murdered last year and his mother later tried to commit suicide.

The investigation is ongoing.

The New York Post reported:

The suspect accused of fatally mowing down 11 festival attendees when he plowed through a crowd of people at a block party in Vancouver was identified as local man Kai-Ji Adam Lo, authorities said Sunday night.

Lo, of Vancouver, is facing eight counts of second-degree murder so far after his alleged rampage at the Lapu Lapu Day festival – celebration of the Filipino community – Saturday night.

The 30-year-old was arrested at the scene by authorities and was “known” to law enforcement and mental health care professionals before he allegedly carried out his deadly attack, Vancouver police said.

The alleged killer has a history of mental health problems and investigators believe the destructive driving was not terror-related, cops previously said.

A 30-year-old man murdered at least nine people and injured several more when he drove his car through the Lapu Lapu festival in Vancouver on Friday.
