Border Czar Tom Homan was on ABC’s “This Week” with host Jon Karl to discuss Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen’s trip to El Salvador to visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported for being an illegal alien and an MS-13 gang member.
“Senator Van Hollen is obviously got a chance to meet with him, but he had to travel to El Salvador to get any information. Does that concern you at all?” Karl asked.
“Well, he obviously knew his whereabouts. He went there to see him. What bothers me more than that, is a US Senator traveled to El Salvador on taxpayer dime to meet with an MS-13 gang member, public safety threat terrorist,” Homan said.
“What concerns me is Van Hollen never went to the border the last four years under Joe Biden,” Homan continued.

Karl discussed Senator Van Hollen’s reasons for his defense of Garcia had more to do with due process.
“He says he has done this because the issue here is due process, and it’s following a court order,” Karl said.
“We removed a public safety threat, a national security threat, a violent gang member from the United States,” Homan said.

Border Czar Homan told Karl that the Trump administration is following the law and the Constitution.
“We have followed the Constitution, and we have followed the law,” Homan said.
“So that right of due process, is something the 5th Amendment right of due process extends to everybody who would be deported. They have a chance to have a hearing on this,” Karl commented.
“The length of due process is not the same under the Alien Enemies act. That’s why the Alien Enemies Act was created,” Homan said.
“We are using the laws on the books, the statutes on the books, to secure the border and remove significant public safety threats and national security threats to this country,” Homan continued.
