The White House Communications team responded to the historic stock market rally on Wednesday, April 9, by sharing colorful content that hyped up President Trump’s singular ability to move markets.

At the close of trading hours on the third-largest single day gain for the S&P 500 since World War II, The White House posted, “DO NOT RETALIATE AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED.”

This post referred to President Trump’s 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for all countries with the exception of China, paving the way for the largest stock market trading day in 17 years – with the S&P 500 booming by 9.52%.

President Trump “rewarded” the countries demonstrating their willingness to negotiate with the United States, while increasing the tariffs rate on China to 125%.

The White House praised President Trump’s deal-making prowess by posting a vintage tweet in which Trump quoted himself from The Art of the Deal.

Shortly thereafter, the White House continued its celebration in the West Wing by posting President Trump’s famous presidential portrait next to Vice President Vance’s portrait, with the caption: “LET HIM COOK!”

The use of modern language and emojis by the official White House account signifies a marked shift away from the more unapproachable, corporate lingo that was the hallmark of all past presidential administrations.

President Trump’s White House continues to deliver its official releases with a dignified professionalism, while also writing in the more populist vernacular that underpins the MAGA movement.

At the end of its hour-long populist media blitz celebrating the stock market rally, the White House quoted President Trump’s advice to Americans from days before on Truth Social, saying, “BE COOL.”

While millions of Americans panic due to the unknown effects of reciprocal tariffs on global markets, the White House’s advice is clear: trust the experts in the White House, be cool, and let President Trump cook.
