The Democratic Party fallout from the 2024 presidential election is just getting started.
Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin has slammed the likes of Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett, comparing them to activists and arguing their impact has been neglible.
Slotkin made the remarks during a town hall meeting in Flint, Michigan, where she was asked about the efforts of the aforementioned lawmakers who were “screaming, enraged [and] passionate” in their opposition to Trump.
“I have done as much as I feel like I’m capable of doing to respond in words to what Trump is doing, but I can’t just be an activist,” said Slotkin.
She explained that she cannot “chain [herself] to the White House and become an activist full time” because she needs to focus on opposing aspects of Trump’s agenda like Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“All of those things require me to be more than just an AOC,” she said.
“I can’t do what she does because we live in a purple state, and I’m a pragmatist.”
“Everyone you mentioned has a lot of words, but what have they actually done to change the situation with Donald Trump and the cuts and the attacks on our judiciary and the attacks on our Constitution?”

Slotkin is far from the only influential Democrat complaining about the likes of AOC.
Last week, Senator John Fetterman, said in an interview with The Hill that he does not care about her opinion and will “sleep just fine” after he voted to support a bill that will keep the government running through the end of September.
“I hope you can relay how little I care about her views on this,” Fetterman said.
“I’m going to stand on what I happen to believe is the right thing to do but ask her, ‘What’s the exit plan once we shut the government down?’ What about all the millions of Americans who are going to have their lives damaged?”
“What about the ones that won’t have any paycheck?” he added. “She’ll have her paycheck, though.”
