White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt held a press briefing Monday afternoon and responded ferociously to a woke French politician who demanded America return one of its most cherished possessions.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, a French leftist politician last week demanded that the United States return the Statue of Liberty, claiming that America no longer upholds the values for which France originally gifted the monument in 1886.
At a gathering of his Place Publique movement, Raphaël Glucksmann, a European Parliament member (MEP) member, blasted President Trump’s foreign policy, defense of scientific freedom, and budgetary decisions.
“We’re going to say to the Americans who have chosen to side with tyrants, to the Americans who fired researchers for demonstrating scientific freedom, ‘Give us back the Statue of Liberty. We gave it to you as a gift, but apparently you despise it. So it will be just fine here at home,’” Glucksmann whined to supporters.
“The second thing we’re going to say to the Americans is ‘if you want to fire your best researchers, if you want to fire all the people who, through their freedom and their sense of innovation, their taste for doubt and research, have made your country the world’s leading power, then we’re going to welcome them,’” he added.
During the briefing, Fox News’s Peter Doocy decided to shift from questions regarding the Houthi terrorist attack on the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and the ongoing Biden auto pen scandal to get Leavitt’s response to Glucksman’s silly comments.
“Something different. There is now a member of the European Parliament from France who does not think the US represents the values of the Statue of Liberty anymore. They want the Statue of Liberty back,” Doocy said. “So, is President Trump going to send the Statue of Liberty back to France?”
“Absolutely not,” Leavitt replied before sending a savage message to the radical-left bureaucrat.
“My advice to that unnamed low-level French politician would be to remind them that it’s only because of the United States Of America that the French are not speaking German right now, she added. “So, they should be very grateful to our great country.”

European nations like France have a terrible habit of resorting to anti-Americanism while at the same time praying that the world’s greatest country will bail them out of trouble over and over again. Perhaps they could start expressing a little gratitude instead.
After all, Europe needs America far more than America needs Europe.
