Representative Joe Wilson (R-SC) has announced that he’s drafting legislation to create a $250 bill featuring President Trump.
Rep. Wilson wrote in a post on X, “Grateful to announce that I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump. Biden-flation has destroyed the economy, forcing American families to carry more cash.”
Wilson added, “Most valuable bill for most valuable President!”
A policy advisor for Rep. Wilson shared the amount of $250 was chosen to commemorate the United State’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson is working on legislation that would direct the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring President Donald Trump.
“Most valuable bill for most valuable President!” Wilson wrote on X.According to Wilson’s policy advisor, the proposed bill would commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026 while also recognizing what they describe as Trump’s efforts in battling inflation under the Biden administration.
They also want to highlight the idea that Americans should not have to carry large quantities of cash on them when they go to the grocery shop.
However, a long-standing federal law could pose a challenge. A provision passed in 1866 prohibits living individuals from appearing on U.S. currency. Wilson’s office stated that his legislation would address this issue, though details on how remain unclear.
