Democratic Senator Chris Murphy is not the sharpest tool in the shed.
On Sunday, the senator for Connecticut launched a foul-mouthed rant against Lara Trump, seemingly unaware that he was speaking to a parody fan page.
The post that triggered Murphy was from the aforementioned parody account and called on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to be deported for trying to impede federal deportation efforts.
“It takes some fucking gall to have Vance lecturing Europe on ‘free speech’ when at the exact same time the Trump regime is threatening Democrats back home with arrest if they even explain people’s rights to them,” Murphy wrote.

The White House rapid response team was quick to fire back.
“You are a moron, Chris. It is obvious this page is not affiliated with President Trump, his family, or the administration,” Trump’s social media team wrote.
“We do, however, support your right to make such a statement, no matter how imbecilic it makes you look.”

Murphy has not had a great start to life under the Trump administration.
He recently claimed that Elon Musk’s efforts to cut corruption and waste through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have left the country facing a “constitutional crisis.”
“I think this is the most serious constitutional crisis the country has faced, certainly since Watergate,” Murphy said in a television last week.
“The president is attempting to seize control of power and for corrupt purposes,” he continued.
“This is a fundamental corruption, and democracies don’t last forever, and what those who are trying to destroy democracies want is for everyone to stay quiet, for everyone to believe that the moment isn’t urgent.”
Sadly for Senator Murphy, he has another three years and 11 months to endure the Trump presidency.
