On Wednesday night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow thought she was delivering a zinger against President Trump and Elon Musk.
Instead, she accidentally slammed Joe Biden.
Maddow criticized a contract between Tesla and the U.S. Department of State for armored Teslas and seemed to suggest that this was somehow an example of some sort of shady payback by Trump to Musk for his support.
But there is a problem with Maddow’s fake news.
As Fox News’ Jesse Watters notes, the contract actually happened under Joe Biden.
Rachel Maddow: Elon Musk has apparently somehow convinced the United States government, specifically the United States Department of State, that the taxpayers of the United States of America should spend $400 million buying, quote, “Armored Tesla production units.”
Isn’t it great and definitely not at all illegal or profoundly corrupt?
Definitely not ripping us all off to pay themselves, right?
Jesse Watters: Donald Trump didn’t give that contract to Elon Musk.
Joe Biden gave it to him.
