Police: Hispanic Male Stabbed as Fights Break Out at High School Student Protest In Los Angeles Against President Trump’s Immigration Policies

A protest by high school students at the Los Angeles City Hall Friday afternoon devolved into several fights, including a stabbing of an Hispanic male, according to police, and videos of the protest that also showed a male person being chased and beaten. Flags of several south of the border nations were flown by the protesters, with American flags not readily visible.

A shirtless male in the middle of a protest mob is an apparent stabbing victim at a high school student protest of President Trump’s immigration policies at the Los Angeles City Hall that turned violent. Screen image via KTLA-TV, February 7, 2025.

KTLA-TV reported Los Angeles police reporting a “Hispanic male” was stabbed (excerpt):

…By 1:49 p.m., the LAPD confirmed a Hispanic male had been stabbed at Grand Park, outside city hall.

KTLA’s Rich Prickett estimated that there were several hundred people outside the city hall at about 1:30 p.m.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the individuals involved in the brawl, including the person stabbed, were students, or if they were legal adults.

The status of the person stabbed was unknown as of 1:55 p.m.

Overhead video of the protest by KTLA shows the apparent stabbing victim walking around shirtless with blood on his back and on the pavement.

On the ground video posted by The Blaze reporter Julio Rosas shows the apparent stabbing victim with blood on his back:

Rosas reported a man was taken away in handcuffs, adding It was not clear what he was being detained for:

And to be clear, I don’t know if this is the stabbing suspect. In the chaos of the crowd, I didn’t see what caused the arrest.

Police and paramedics responded:

LAPD and firefighters responded to the stabbing and took the victim away. There is now a massive response from LAPD. Anti-ICE protesters are stating to leave city hall. pic.twitter.com/qP4Fhe5Eyu

Video posted by independent reporter Anthony Cabassa shows a mob of protesters chasing and beating a male person.

Cabassa posted video via IRTMedia that appears to show the stabbing as some protesters tried to intervene in the attack. Cabassa said the stabbing victim was reported to be a student:

BREAKING : It’s being reported a student was just stabbed during a fight with a fellow student. The student is on the ground and no first responders on sight.

UPDATE: The Los Angeles Times reports the stabbing victim is in critical condition (excerpt): “A man is in critical condition after being stabbed Friday at a protest against President Trump’s immigration and deportation policies near Los Angeles City Hall, authorities said.”
